The term 'Bidriware' originates from the township of Bidar, which is still the main town that manufactures the unique metalware.

Antique Wooden Shrines

These interesting hand carved household shrines are likely to be placed over doorways, containing a small bronze or image of Ganesha as 'the remover of obstacles'.

They are made of a solid, dense wood with a beautiful patina and are of varying intricacy depending on the skill of the carver. Some of these charming shrines appear very old, whilst some are of more recent date. Sourced in Rajasthan.
