Hand Carved Statues

Our hand-carved statues are remarkable for their extremely fine hand painted detail.

They are carved from the wood of the Kadam tree which is a sacred tree associated with Lord Krishna in Hindu Mythology.

The Kadam flowers in the monsoon season and its scented oil is used in the production of attar which is a base for Indian perfumes.

These statues are truly exceptional. We found them in Jaipur and refused to leave without them!

Antique Wooden Shrines

These interesting hand carved household shrines are likely to be placed over doorways, containing a small bronze or image of Ganesha as 'the remover of obstacles'. They are made of a solid, dense wood with a beautiful patina and are of varying intricacy depending on the skill of the carver. Some of these charming shrines appear very old, whilst some are of more recent date. Sourced in Rajasthan.
